Dear Students and Parents,
We are starting a new program at the library this year called the Friends of
the Library Program (this used to be known as the Birthday Book Program). This program
is meant to help defray rising book costs by offering all Terrace students the opportunity to "donate" a book that
they and all the other students at Terrace can check out and enjoy. This book will have a bookplate on the inside to show
that YOU donated it.
Here is how the
program works. Library-bound books range in price between $10 and $18. If you choose to donate a book, please return a check
for the amount you would like to contribute with this letter. The check should be made out to Terrace Elementary and delivered
or addressed to the library. Once the new books are received, I will invite your child to the library to look at the new books
and choose which book they would like to donate. They will have the first opportunity to check out their book and bring it
home to show their family.
We will be sending
out these letters two times this year. Once at the beginning of the year and then again after winter break. The fall letters
will be due back to the library by Friday, September 19 and the winter letters will be due back by Friday, January 30.
Please
fill out the information below to donate a book and became part of the Friends of the Library Program. If you would
prefer, you may make a donation in your family's name.
